Pandora
I would just like to express my love with www.pandora.com. I listen to it at work and think it is just awesome. I only have 3 radio stations on mine so far, but i find myself discovering new music all the time. Hopefully pandora can take off. I am noticing that it is incorporating itself into cell phone carriers now like sprint and att mobile. Its crazy it has been so long since i have done any posting on this thing. I guess i am just not cut out to be a normal blogger with all of my computer work through out the work week.

Tripping on Acid with Spider Monkeys off the coast of micronesia

I just tried yoga for the first time last night. In the words of hansel it has "changed my perspective on things" I hope to go every thursday night now in provo. I really felt like it calmed me down. I think with programming and the stresses of work i need something like that to relieve stress. I am going to still do my normal strength and cardio training, but yoga is just plain awesome when it comes to stress relief for me.

Optimus Maximus keyboard
This guy is the coolest design guy ever according to every gadgeteer. And the idea of this keyboard, albeit expensive, is pretty dang cool. I guess that most really cool gadgets are out of reach of the common joe. Because who is going to pay 400 to 1500 bucks on a keyboard. But the guy that created the keyboard, Artemiy Lebedev is a hoot.

http://lifehacker.com/344765/turn-your-60-router-into-a-user+friendly-super+router-with-tomato
This is an excellent article on hacking your wi-fi router into a super powerful boosted router with a firmware named tomato. I have a linksys wrt-54g and will be doing this very soon.

New Dell Laptop prototype brings the sexy

Not much is known about this new dell laptop according to Engadget.com, but it sure looks cool. Design cues from apple and lenovo. Dell design is pumping out some way cool stuff. First the m1330, then the new crystal display, and now this. All way expensive toys, but they are all dream gear of mine.

oscilloscope
Last night i was introduced to something that looks like it came straight out of ABC's Lost television show. One of our Techs that manages our phone system brought it in and tested our T1 lines. Essentially how it works is that you hook it up to the inbound and outbound part of the T1 and it graphically shows you whether the signals match. It had tons of little knobs and dials on it and did not look like your normal piece of electronics from my generation.
After the unnamed tech had diagnosed that the problem was not his he proceeded to show his nerd dominance to our provider. It was quite comical, and i think i enjoyed it too much. Anyway, i thought it was definitely worth a post. Unfortunately you will have to go to wikipedia's entry on it to figure out the exact details.

Initial Mass Effect Review
So I played a little Mass Effect last night and got blown away by how big the game really is.
What i really like is that you can change the weapons and use the abilities of your 2 npc's. I also really like the characters and the voice over talent that they used in the game. It is some of the best voice acting i have ever seen. It is very immersive, and makes you feel like you really are part of the story. ***SPOILER*** I got all the way up to the part where i took over the ship that the captain is using at the front of the game. Come on, this is a Bioware game, you knew it was going to happen any way right. The story is pretty cool because it immerses you in the lore of all the different races and what the political backgrounds and cultures are.
The game involves alot of dialog. It is a little different then other games because you actually control the emotion of your character, and that creates alternating dialog paths. All of the emotional responses are to the right on the dialog tree, and the responses on the left seem to be more for inquisition.
There are some gripes. I dont like the framerate, and i am not sure how i feel about some of the long elevator rides and so forth. I guess i just need to get used to the slow play. These type of games always play slower, and that is more of a style then anything else.
